Aunty Chris' car.Bright Orange Volvo Estate. Sitting in the back (always an argument as to who's turn it would be) waving at people in cars behind us! Karen,Stephen,Me & My Brother Matt. Going to visit Janet ( a cousin i think) she had a house that seemed like a mansion to me and i was always excited to go and play in their garden and on the piano. Picking stawberries in Uncle Freds Garden and sitting in the kitchen with a bowl of freshly picked runner beans, topping, tailing and stringing them at Aunty Chris' instruction. Something i have never forgotten where i learnt it from. Day trips, organised by Aunty Chris, all family and friends on a coach to Margate for the day. To my memory it would usually be raining, so that meant cagoules, and i would have sand in my fish paste sarnies! One of my pet hates now is a sandy beach lol! Joyce green Hospital and swimming in the lido. That was just the best day out! sandwiches appear again in the form of dairy lea cheese spread!I still crave it today! Up until my youngest daughter was about 2yrs old ( so around 4 years ago) on every birthday, be it mine or Amy, Kayleigh,Emma. There would be a knock on the door and it would be Aunty Chris with a card! She never failed and would stay for a cup of tea and a chat. She was very down to earth and easy to talk to, even if i did only see her once or twice a year. Many more i can think of, but i would like to think that now she is in a peaceful place with Grandad Sam having a ball!!xx
